(Critical) Observed the following food contact surfaces soiled with a build up of food debris and in clean dish storage: 1. Can opener blade. 2. Interior of milk carafe was soiled with milk residue. Equipment food-contact surfaces and utensils shall be cleaned: (1) except as specified in # (b) of this section, before each use with a different type of raw animal food such as beef, fish, lamb, pork, or poultry; (p) (2) each time there is a change from working with raw foods to working with ready-to-eat foods; (p) (3) between uses with raw fruits and vegetables and with potentially hazardous food (time/temperature control for safety food); (p) (4) before using or storing a food temperature measuring device; (p) and (5) at any time during the operation when contamination may have occurred. Observed the following: 1. Two door glass pepsi cooler not working properly with an ambient air tempo of 49f. Note: no potentially hazardous food being stored inside at the time of inspection. 2. Freezer has a heavy frost build up. Equipment shall be maintained in a state of repair and good condition. Correct by: 1. Repairing the noted cooler to hold cold food at 41f or below. 2. Defrosting the freezer. ,

Observed food being stored in an open metal can. Materials that are used in the construction of utensils and food-contact surfaces of equipment may not allow the migration of deleterious substances or impart colors, odors, or tastes to food and under normal use conditions shall be: (p) (a) safe; (p) (b) durable, corrosion resistant, and nonabsorbent; (c) sufficient in weight and thickness to withstand repeated warewashing; (d) finished to have a smooth, easily cleanable surface; and (e) resistant to pitting, chipping, crazing, scratching, scoring, distortion, and decomposition. Correct by transferring the noted items to a food grade reusable container. ,

(Critical) Found an unopened can of whipped cream in refrigerator in the back with a date of 5/7/13. When shaken, contents were solid. Corrected - whipped cream was discarded. Care must be taken to check dates of stock. There were three other cans of whipped cream within th stamped date. Cream should be dated when opened and used within 7 days or discarded.

(Critical) Found the popcorn kettle and machine in the back still with popcorn debris in it from yesterday. Also found hot dog machine dirty, front popcorn with debris in it. To correct - all food equipment must be cleaned each day when used. This is the second routine inspection in a row that this violation has been cited. As such, a risk control plan must be completed by december 28th, 2013 and sent to: bernbeckd2ewashtenaw,org. The equipment must be cleaned by december 28th, 2013. A follow-up inspection will be made on january 7th, 2014 to verify the correction of this violation. ,

Found gallon size pump bottles of slushy syrup to be stored in a crate directly on the floor. Bottles also need cleaning due to drips and spills covering the outside of the bottles. To correct - store these bottles cleanly and at least 6" above the floor, and protected from splash, dust and debris. ,

Found paper plates, hot dog boats stored up front, opened without protective covering or wrapping with tongs and popcorn scoop resting on the stacks of paper plates. To correct - paper plates must be stored in original wrapper or in zip top bags, or in snap lid plastic containers. Utensils should be washed and stored in a protected manner after use. ,

Found cabinets and drawers in the back to have food debris and crumbs in them. Popcorn oil, dripping and pooling. Shelves up front are dusty. To correct - clean these areas now and keep on a more frequent cleaning schedule. ,

Corrected - these items were discarded at the time of inspection. All potentially hazardous food items such as diary products must be dated when opened and used or discarded within 7 days

This device is considered a shut-off downstream of the built-in atmospheric vacuum breaker in the faucet and the outlets must be protected from backflow. To correct - install the required hose bib vacuum breaker on each outlet of the "y" connector, or, if connector is not needed, remove it permanently. ,

To correct - you must obtain a serv safe certified employee within 90 days. - (february 28, 2012. ) please fax a copy of an alternate employee's serv safe certification, or a copy of the registration to take the required class to my attention @ 734 -222-3930. Serv safe class information was given to pic at the time of this inspection
